Sunset

Because God gave you your makeup and superintended every moment of your past, including all the hardship, pain, and struggles, He wants to use your words in a unique manner. No one else can speak through your vocal cords, and, equally important, no one else has your story.

How I Used Them:

  • I first filled in my brows with the darkest shadow in the natural NYX palette.
  • Then, using the master concealer, I cleaned up the edges of my brows and used it to prime my lids.
  • I then took purple and packed it on with a short, dense, thick shadow brush over my entire lid.
  • Then, with a small, fluffy shadow brush, I took the bright pink and blended it into the purple, making sure I blended a lot. I just scratched at it gently, circling the brush and blending it back and forth.
  • Then I took the darkest purple from the L.A. Colors palette to darken the existing purple and blend it into the pink even more.
  • With a tiny, long, round, pointed shadow brush, I blended a coral shade right above the pink.
  • On a Q-tip, I put some makeup remover and removed the makeup on my lid in a semi-circle, then took a small, rounded, flat brush and used to same makeup remover to sharpen and round out the semi-circle.
    • I made sure to “wring” out a bit of the remover from both the Q-tip and the brush, so it wouldn’t spill over and remove too much.
  • I put concealer on the back of my hand and took some on a flat, rounded brush and filled in that space.
  • I then took a smaller rounded, flat brush and put it up around the edges.
  • On yet another flat brush (if you haven’t noticed, I have a lot of flat brushes😆) I took a liberal amount of yellow shadow and packed it all over the concealer, again, taking a smaller, denser, flat brush to get up around the edges cleanly.
  • On a tiny, pointed, round, long, shadow brush, I put a darkish, coral-orange on the lower third of the newly created sun.
  • Yay! Now the top half was done! Now for the rest. I blended concealer under my eyes in a large section, from the bottom of my nose out and up to the end of eye.
  • On the rest of my I put foundation and blended it all, only setting my forehead with the loose face powder until later.
  • I then took that same purple shade on that same dense shadow brush and put it in a messy triangle shape under my eye.
    • I didn’t do the best and neatest job of this for two reasons:
      • 1. I didn’t want to waste more shadow
      • 2. I knew I would go over it with concealer later and you wouldn’t be able to see the unevenness.
  • I then took a pinkish-purplish shade on a larger, fluffy brush and blended that around the existing purple.
  • Next, for the reflection, I put concealer on the back of my hand, put it on a flat brush, making sure the brush was very flat, and lightly stamped the concealer on top of the purple to make the shape of the reflection.
  • I then took yellow on a flat brush and tried to stamp it neatly on top of the lines, but it didn’t work, so I took a fluffier brush and just put the yellow all over, making sure it was covering all the concealer.
    • With the coral-orange shade, I shaded around the outside of the reflection.
  • I then took a very dense, thin, small brush with the purple and stamped the purple where I didn’t want the yellow to be, and cleaned up around the reflection.
  • With a large, fluffy brush, I lightly set the rest of my face, then swept away any extra powder on my face.If you are setting a dewy or hydrating base, use stippling motions with your brush. I used circular motions because it’s faster and since I had a matte foundation on; it sets itself a bit, so swirling the brush lightly won’t disturb it.
  • With a smaller, round face brush I applied contour just below my cheekbone, and on my jawline blending it out a lot with tight, circular motions, blending up more than down.
    • DO NOT USE TOO MUCH. This will kill your whole face and be extremely frustrating. Only get the smallest amount and tap your brush off to get rid of the excess product. You always add more a lot easier than you can take away product.
  • With another large face brush (this one slightly denser than my powder brush) I bronzed my jawline, under my cheekbones, and around my forehead to add warmth and depth to my face.
  • Using the e.l.f. highlighter, I highlighted my cheekbones, my nose, my upper lip, and chin with a small, tapered face brush.
  • I mixed the wet n’ wild red glossy lipstick with the e.l.f. pink gloss and used that as a lipstick, and applied it with a small, flat brush.
  • I then put the highlighter on my brow-bone with a small, flat brush, applied mascara, and was done!
