How I Used Them:

  • As always, I started with my brows, using the darkest brown in the NYX naturals palette, and set them with my brow gel.
  • I then primed my face with the Maybelline pore eraser, all over my t-zone/
  • Next, I carved out my brows with concealer on a flat, shadow brush.
  • I applied concealer on my forehead without setting it, and blended it out.
  • With my brown pencil liner, I drew the shape of the leaf on my forehead.
  • I then, on a small pointed brush, I used that same dark shadow to outline the shape of the leaf, and bring the shadow in, blending it to a soft edge on the inside.
  • I used the darkest brown shade in the L.A. Colors palette on a little bit of a fluffier brush to blend into that first brown shade, still keeping it pretty close to the edge, and not bringing it too far to the center of the leaf.
  • Next, on a fluffier brush, I blended the darkest orange shade in the NYX brights palette into that second brown shade and brought it all the way into the center and to the bottom.
  • With a smaller, denser brush, I put the second to last shade, the light orange one in the center of the dark orange, and blended it.
  • On an even smaller brush, I put yellow in the very center and the bottom, and blended it out a lot.
  • Now that the leaf was done, I took makeup remover on a Q-tip and went around the edge of the leaf, removing all the excess.
  • I then took concealer on the same flat brush and went around the edge of the leaf to make it even cleaner, then blended the concealer out.
  • Next I did my eyes.
  • I primed them with concealer and didn’t set them.
  • With a smallish, fluffy brush, I took the darkest green shade in the NYX Brights palette, and put it on my outer corners, and blended it out.
  • I took the yellow shade on a fluffy brush, and blended a little bit of that on the edges of the green.
  • I took light orange and blended the edge of the yellow.
  • Then I took the darkest orange shade, and put that in the center third of my eyes, and blended it.
  • Then, on a fluffy brush again, I packed on the red shade and blended it out on all sides.
  • On a small, thin, pointed brush, I created the shape of the “cut crease”, then filled it in with concealer.
  • I put white shadow on the edge of the shape.
  • I then drew the black shape right inside the original shape with liquid liner, and filled it in with that liquid liner.
  • I set the liner on a larger, flat, shadow brush with the black shade in the L.A. Colors palette.
  • After that I did the rest of my face.
  • I applied foundation and blended it, making sure I had no harsh lines. Blending the foundation down onto the neck is key.
  • I put my concealer under my eyes, along the bridge of my nose, in the center of my forehead, and on my chin. My concealer is always one shade lighter than my foundation so it brightens where it’s applied.
  • I set my under eyes with my Airspun powder, using a rounded face brush that fits under my eyes. I also set anywhere I put concealer with this brush, using more than needed, and later wiping it off to really set those areas into place.
  • With a large, fluffy brush, I lightly set the rest of my face, then swept away any extra powder on my face. If you are setting a dewy or hydrating base, use stippling motions with your brush. I used circular motions because it’s faster and since I had a matte foundation on; it sets itself a bit, so swirling the brush lightly won’t disturb it.
  • With a smaller, round face brush, I applied contour just below my cheekbone, and on my jawline blending it out a lot with tight, circular motions, blending up more than down.DO NOT USE TOO MUCH. This will kill your whole face, and be extremely frustrating. Only get the smallest amount, and tap your brush off to get rid of the excess product. You can add a lot easier than you can take away product.
  • On a fluffy brush, I put quite a liberal amount of contour down both sides of my nose, thinking it would add a different level to the look, and it kind of did, but it wasn’t as mystical and wood-nymphy as I would have liked.
  • With another large face brush (this one slightly denser than my powder brush) I bronzed my jawline, under my cheekbones, and around my forehead to add warmth and depth to my face.
  • With a round brush, I applied blush to apples of my cheeks and brought it back to just above my bronze, but still in the bronzer a bit to blend them together.
  • Using a yellow highlighter (it’s limited edition and is no longer available) I highlighted my cheekbones, my nose, upper lip, chin, inner corner, and brow bone.
  • Now that my face was done, I set it with setting spray, waited until it was almost dry so I didn’t pull up the makeup, then tapped it in lightly with my beauty sponge. When your setting spray is wet, your makeup is vulnerable, so try to limit movements of your face.
  • On a small, fluffy flat brush, I blended the dark orange shade on my lower lash line.
  • With the same brush, just wiped off, I put the darkest brown shade in the L.A. Colors palette, I blended that tightly on my lower lash line.
  • Once that was done, I applied lipstick, curled my lashes, applied mascara, and was almost done!
  • I then took the gold glitter in the glitter palette on a flat brush, and packed it onto the bottom of the leaf.
  • The last thing I did (which I kind of regretted because it wasn’t actual glitter liner, so it was very difficult to keep it from transferring onto the rest of the lid) Was to take the glitter gloss on a very very small, pointed, round, long brush and put it over too of the white strip outside the black on my lid.
