There’s a story behind this look. I just recently got my permit, so I have been practicing driving, and getting hours in. I went for drive with my dad the other day, and there were these narrow, winding roads and with the left mirror, I hit a mailbox, shattering the mirror. In my defense, I was driving a 15 passenger van, and the mailbox was really close to the road! Anyway, that incident inspired this look. Plus, that afternoon, when I told my dad I was going to go do makeup, he teasingly asked if I was going to do broken mirror makeup, so I did it.
Products Used: (This is a short, almost bonus post. I’m going to just be telling how I did the “broken glass” effect, not the base makeup. If you want a post on how I did that, comment below and I’ll be glad to do that.)
- Maybelline Unstoppable Eyeliner-Shade: onyx
- e.l.f. Liner-Shade: Jet Black
- Smashbox Photo Matte Eyes palette
- NYX Professional Makeup Retractable Eyeliner-Shade: White
How I Used Them:
- I created the shape I wanted with the Maybelline pencil liner, just outlining where I wanted the cracks to be.
- With the e.l.f. liner, I traced over the outline to make it darker.
- I used the white pencil liner to highlight, tracing one side if all the lines to create a highlight. (I shaded where I should have highlighted, and highlighted where I should have shaded in some places, but the overall look isn’t damaged.)
- With a cool, lightish brown shadow shade (Grounded in the Smashbox palette) on a small brush, I shaded the other side of all the lines, making sure to blend.
- Then, because some of the white and brown got in the black liner, I went over the lines again to darken and sharpen them.
