“Makeup can only make you look pretty on the outside, but it doesn’t help if you’re ugly on the inside. Unless you eat the makeup.”

– Audrey Hepburn

This is the NYX Ultimate Shadow Palette you see me talking about, just for reference.

How I Used Them:

  • I filled in my brows with my brow pencil.
  • I put concealer on a flat brush and cleaned up around my brows because I don’t have the precise pencil anymore so I’m a bit messier.😂
  • I took a smaller, fluffy brush and blended that concealer out to get rid of the excess
  • I set my brows in place with my clear brow gel. I prefer a clear gel over a tinted one because I get my brows how I want them with my pencil, and the tint in a tinted brow gel messes that up, but that’s just my preference.
  • As always, I put concealer over my entire lid to set down a base for my shadows.
  • Now, I don’t have tape meant specifically for this, so I use scotch tape. I put in on the back of my hand first so I don’t put off my skin when removing it, then I position it how I want it on the outside of my eye. I usually put it just under my lower lash line, up to the end of the brow. This just makes sure you have a straight line when you’re done.
  • I took a small, rounded shadow brush and applied the warm, dark brown shade from the Smashbox palette to my crease, blending it up. I didn’t want it to be cool-toned, because the blue is cool-toned, so I wanted a warm brown to counteract the cool blue.
  • I took a lighter warm brown shade and blended it just above that dark brown.
  • Using the same flat brush I used for cleaning up my brows, I applied concealer from the inner corner, following the shape of my eye and going down and up into a wing at the end.
  • I took and small, liner brush, picked up some of the orange-coral shade and packed it on just along the top of the concealer I just applied.
  • Of course, since, I’m not perfect, neither was the orange-coral line, so I had to go with my flat brush and conceal whatever mess I made, creating a clean line.
  • I took the second blue shade in the NYX palette and put it on the outer third of the concealer with a thick, semi-flat brush.
  • The lighter, teal-blue right next to that shade in the palette I put on the middle third of my eye with another brush of the same shade used previously.
  • The lightest teal-blue shade, I put on the last third, leaving a little space between the shadow and my inner corner with a small, actually flat brush.
  • The first highlighter in the Makeup Revolution palette I put in the at space I left, then went back and made sure all the shadows were blended into each other where they met because no one likes harsh lines in shadow blends. I used this highlighter because it has a very noticeable green shift to it. I used the same brush I used for the inner teal shade, so it also had some blue left on it.
  • Because the middle shade I used is shimmery, I didn’t want some matte shades and some shimmery shades on my lid, so I lightly went over my whole lid with just a small amount of the green-shift highlighter.
  • I applied this highlighter to my brow bone but then realized it still had some blue residue on it, making my brow bone a little blue. I didn’t mind that much, but I would have been happier if I had used a clean brush for this.
  • The final step for my eye look was to apply the winged liner. This was a lot easier to apply a nice, straight edge with my tape there.
  • I took the tape off and my clean, (how many times have I used that word😂) sharp edge was there.
  • I put the e.l.f. poreless primer to my T-zone. If you aren’t sure what the T-zone is, it’s the forehead and the line in the center of your face (nose, around the nose, upper lip, and chin) It’s the area on your face shaped like a “T”.
  • I then put just a bit of the vitamin shot and rubbed/tapped it in. The most one needs is a drop on the forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks. Maybe two drops on the cheeks. A little covers a lot.
  • I put my foundation directly over that, not waiting for it to dry (it was almost dry anyway because it dries fast)
  • I blended my foundation, again, making sure not to leave any lines, which means blending it onto my neck.
  • I dotted my concealer under my eyes, applied it to my forehead, nose, chin, and upper lip. I use a concealer one or two shades lighter than my foundation so it brightens and highlights where ever I put it.
  • Next, I took an oval face brush that thins out at the end and used it to apply setting powder under my eye, between my brows, in the center of my forehead, on and around my nose and on my chin. For the rest of my face, I used a large, face brush with the same setting powder.
  • I used a small, round, flat-topped face brush for my contour. I first took some on the brush and stippled it where I wanted it, then went back over it in circular motions to blend it in, mostly circling it up, not down.
  • I went along the sides of my nose with the same brush, just to add a little bit of contour.
  • With another large, face brush, I bronzed my cheekbones, forehead, and jawline.
  • I used a round face brush to apply my blush in stippling motions, starting on the apples of my cheeks and bringing it back to just above my bronzer/contour.
  • On a fan brush, I picked up some of that same green-shift highlight and highlighted my cheekbones, my nose, upper lip, chin, and a bit of my forehead.
  • Now that my face was done, I spritzed my face with setting spray. I do this before My mascara to avoid risk on my mascara transferring onto my or under eye. Once it had dried a bit, but not all the way, I lightly tap it in with my beauty sponge to “melt” the powder and whatever baby hairs I have into my makeup, making it looks more like skin. When the setting spray is still wet, you should make sure you don’t move your face. The makeup is vulnerable at this point and will crease if you allow it to.
  • After the setting spray was fully dry, I curled my lashes and applied mascara.
  • I then put on my liquid lipstick and when it was somewhat dry, I applied the gloss over it. I wish I hadn’t put the gloss on because it is quite a bit more cool-toned than the lipstick, and I liked the look of the warm brown lipstick.
